Playtime for little learners! Friday Friends can help children develop social skills by playing with their peers. Kids of all ages with an adult are welcome to join, but best for ages 2-4. 

2025 Schedule 

If you enjoy reading and sharing books with other adults, check out the LDL Book Discussion Group. This book discussion group usually meets the fourth Friday of each month at 11:30 am at the Marguerite deAngeli Branch Library.

Join us for a Storytime with many goodies to take home including a book and prizes from our pretend "bookfair cart". Crafts are selected with preschoolers in mind, but all ages are welcome with an adult.

Reading and audience discussion of Bill Morris' book The Lions Finally Roar. His book was named a Michigan Notable Book of the Year by Library of Michigan.

Free family meal followed by stories for families with children ages 0-12. Registration required. Funding for this program is generously provided by the Kiwanis Club of Lapeer.

Storytime and crafts are selected with preschoolers in mind, but kids of all ages and their families are welcome to join. Adult participation is required. 

2025 Schedule 

The Knitters Group meets at the Metamora Branch Library on Thursdays from 1-3pm in the meeting room. Participants are welcome to gather to knit or do other crafts that can be hand carried. No paints or other liquids allowed.

Join the Seven Ponds Nature Center outreach staff at the LDL Metamora Branch Library as they present how to garden with native plants.

Bring your knit, crochet, or other needle art project for an enjoyable evening with other like-minded crafters. The Needles and Hook Club meets on the first Thursday of the month from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Hadley Branch Library.

Writers Circle is a group of local writers who come together once a month to share new writings, get feedback and encouragement, and hopefully, direction as to possible publication. Our writers do fiction, plays, poetry and memoir.

Celebrate moms with a special craft kids can make to give a special mother figure in their life. Drop in anytime between 2-4PM. Gift bag is provided to keep it secret until Mother's Day (May 11th). Sign up required to reserve your craft. 

May the Fourth be with you! Join Princess Leia (Miss Mary) for a Star Wars themed story time celebration with snacks and a Grogu/Baby Yoda craft. Please register all friends and family attending. Space is limited. 

Babies and their caregivers are invited to a special themed social event made just for them every other month. A short storytime followed by playtime with their new friends. Ages 0-2. 

This is not a library sponsored event. 

Learn the steps and tricks to making beginning sourdough. Attendees will take home a dehydrated sourdough starter kit and information on how to make their sourdough.

Child Tutoring: Tutoring is for elementary children between grades 1st through 4th who need assistance in reading and/or math. Kids will have one-to-one instruction with a trained tutor.

Join us as we share our knowledge and research tips with like-minded genealogy enthusiasts. All experience levels are welcome.
