Lapeer District Library

Would you like to access our digital services but you don't have a Library card? No problem!

If you are a Lapeer County resident and would like an LDL library card to access our digital services you can now SELF-REGISTER online here or use the Login or My Account link on our Enterprise site.
Upon registration, the card number will display on the screen. You will be asked to write down or print the library card number. It CANNOT be retrieved once the popup window is closed.
This is a temporary card number, automatically assigned. It will not allow holds or checkouts of physical items. Once the library reopens you may visit your local branch to upgrade your temporary card. As for now, your new card will allow access to our online resources, including:

Lapeer District Library Card:

A Lapeer District Library card is valid throughout the seven branches in the Lapeer District Library system.  No materials can be checked out without a library card. Proof of residency must be provided for library card approval. When a patron owes over $4.00, borrowing privileges are forfeited until the debt is cleared.  Please be aware that items checked out on your card become your responsibility.  Card replacement cost is $1.00. All information is protected under the Library Privacy Act.


Anyone can use the Lapeer District Library regardless of residency.

Patrons may borrow physical materials without charge if:

A $45 non-resident card is available for those patrons not meeting the criteria above. 

Patrons residing in Lapeer District Library’s legal service area have full access to digital material. Those patrons out of the legal service area have limited digital access

Our LEGAL SERVICE AREA includes: Arcadia Township, Burlington Township, Burnside Township, Clifford Village, Columbiaville Village, Deerfield Township, Elba Township, Hadley Township, Lapeer City, Lapeer Township, Marathon Township, Mayfield Township, Metamora Township, Metamora Village, Oregon Township, Otter Lake Village and Rich Township.

Patrons Under 18:

Both the child and the parent/guardian MUST be present to obtain a library card. The parent must sign all applicable releases on the library card application.  A driver's license or verification of name and address of the parent or guardian is required. All information regarding an individual library account, regardless of age, is protected under the Library Privacy Act.

Internet Access:

Any Library Patron who chooses to use Internet Access at any Lapeer District Library facility, MUST pre-register. Anyone under [18] eighteen years of age MUST have a parent or legal guardian present to apply for an Internet Access.  For further information on why we require registration, please visit the Michigan Legislature's law on internet access.
