2nd Annual Community Helpers Truck Day

Visit with all of the vehicles you see around town doing work in our community! In addition to vehicles used by farms, the police and fire departments, and construction workers, we'll have a story walk and picnic area set up on the library's property on the corner of Davison and DeMille. A fun festival for the whole family! Held in the Rolland-Warner Middle School parking lot.

Dog Days of Summer Celebration

The ancient Romans called Dog Days of Summer...Hottest most humid days of summer because they associated it with the star Sirius. The "dog star" which happens to be the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major (Large Dog) and in the night sky. They thought the bright star helped heat up the sun. Come celebrate the art of doing nothing because of the summer heat. In other words FREE POPCORN DAY!

Drummunity Rhythm & Drums Program

Let’s Rock the Library! The whole family gets to drum, sing and dance together in this fun community-building program. Learn about rhythm and music making, as well as cooperation, diversity, and community, while having the opportunity to play hundreds of instruments. Everyone can dry out a variety of world drums and percussion. Parents, toddlers, teens and in-betweens... no one gets to watch! They're ALL in it, together as we transform into our own "in the moment" Drummunity orchestra!

Egg Rolls with Ming Chef

Ming’s Demonstration Cooking Program: Watch, learn, smell and taste popular Chinese Restaurant Food as served in Ming's restaurant for over 30 years and the Chinese restaurants of his grandfather and uncle. Learn Ming's techniques while he demonstrates his eggroll recipe! Each cooking program lasts about an hour and all items are provided including chopsticks with live instruction, recipes and basic food etiquette lessons, as well as relevant Chinese phrases. Your patron will exercise all their senses: smelling, seeing, touching, tasting, and hearing in hands-on cooking.

Family Playgroup
